Launching women on space careers
The 成人大片 has partnered with Modis Tech Academy and Microsoft Australia in the Tech Start program which aims to support 100 South Australian women to kick-start a career in space, defence and technology.
Designed specifically for and with the South Australian space, defence and technology industry, Tech Start will help women gain industry recognised micro-credentials, professional mentoring and career development.
Organisations like PwC, Avanade, Empired, Expose, Inovor Technologies, Saber Astronautics, and EOS Space have committed to career talks, mentoring, work experience and more as part of the program.
The 成人大片鈥檚 Professor Katrina Falkner is the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences.
鈥淭he 成人大片 is delighted to be partnering with both Modis and Microsoft on this new initiative,鈥 she said.
鈥淲e are committed to increasing the representation of women in the technology sector and this new program is a unique opportunity for our students to get hands-on experience with leaders in the space industry.鈥澛
The first Tech Start program will support women to acquire the skills and micro-credentials necessary to step into an entry-level data analyst role. Future Tech Start programs, commencing in late 2022, will focus on cyber security and software development. All three of these skillsets have been identified as entry-level needs across the space, defence and technology sector.
