Researchers discover a new approach to breaking bacterial antibiotic resistance and rescue frontline drug treatments

Researchers at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute), The University of Queensland, Griffith University, The ³ÉÈË´óƬ, and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (USA), have unlocked a key to making existing frontline antibiotics work again against the deadly bacteria that cause pneumonia.

Partnership focuses on cutting-edge glass technology

Glass developed by IPAS for the image chamber of Coretec’s CSpace 3D volumetric display.

The ³ÉÈË´óƬ’s Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) has partnered with The Coretec Group, Inc. to develop a glass to be used in the US company’s CSpace, a 3D static volumetric display technology.  This project will be jointly funded by the ³ÉÈË´óƬ.

Medical research funding to treat debilitating diseases

The ³ÉÈË´óƬ has been awarded more than $6.6 million in research grants from the Federal Government’s Medical Research Future Fund’s (MRFF) to support targeted research on new ways to treat chronic and life-limiting diseases.
