12 of the world鈥檚 most influential researchers

Students at the 成人大片's North Terrace campus

The 成人大片 is proud home to a dozen of the world鈥檚 most influential researchers 鈥 they are named among the from the Web of Science Group.

The Who鈥檚 Who of influential researchers is produced annually and lists scientists and social scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1% of citations in 21 broad research fields.

It is a measure of the number of times their research is referenced by other researchers 鈥 demonstrating significant research impact among their peers.

鈥淐ongratulations to these 12 top talent researchers, recognised globally for the incredible impact they have on their fields of research,鈥 says Professor Anton Middelberg, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research.

鈥淭hese researchers are on this list both because of the quality of their research and their significant outputs 鈥 they are helping shape our future and advancing society 鈥 making a better world.鈥

Among the 成人大片鈥檚 12 highly cited researchers are two researchers who have been listed in two different fields: Professor Shizhang Qiao, Chair of Nanotechnology in the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials (listed in the Chemistry and Materials Science fields), and Professor Peng Shi, from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (listed in the Computer Science and Engineering fields).

They join just 5% of the world鈥檚 researchers highly cited in two fields and mean the 成人大片 researchers have been listed 14 times. Two researchers have been listed in a 鈥渃ross-field鈥 category which means an exceptionally broad performance based on high impact papers across several fields.

The 成人大片鈥檚 other highly cited researchers are:

Dr Yan Jiao, Senior Lecturer, School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials 鈥 Chemistry;

Dr Yao Zheng, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials 鈥 Chemistry;

Professor John A. Spertus, Adelaide Medical School 鈥 Clinical Medicine;

Emeritus Professor Andrew Smith, School of Agriculture, Food and Wine 鈥 Cross-Field;

Emeritus Professor Sally Smith, School of Agriculture, Food and Wine (deceased) 鈥 Cross-Field;

Professor Shaobin Wang, School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials 鈥 Engineering;

Professor M Santosh, School of Physical Sciences 鈥 Geosciences;

Professor Matthew Gilliham, Director, Waite Research Institute 鈥 Plant and Animal Science;

Professor Mark Jenkinson, Professor of Neuroimaging, School of Computer Science and Australian Institute for Machine Learning (with University of Oxford) 鈥 Neuroscience and Behaviour;
