APRU Food Security Webinar

The University is a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). Together with APRU, and the National Taiwan University, the ³ÉÈË´óƬ is co-hosting Session 2 of the APRU Food Security Webinar Series 2024, which aims to delve into regional technological advancements in the areas of precision agriculture and agritech solutions for prolonging food shelf life. Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes

This two-part epic is a complex, metaphorical and symbolic examination of sexuality in 1980s USA by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning playwright Tony Kushner. Playing over four weekends, Angels in America is a two-part play, presented in two halves over two separate performances. Thursday 2 to Saturday 25 May, 1 pm, 2 pm and 7 pm. The Little theatre. .

Brahms - Piano Quartet No. 2 in A major, Op. 26 Brahms drew clear inspiration from Schubert in this four-movement work which is particularly famous for being one of the longest piano quartets ever written. Featuring staff members Michael Ierace, Stephen King and Thomas Marlin, with ASO concertmaster Kate Suthers. Friday 3 May, 1.10–2 pm. Elder Hall, North Terrace campus. $20. Tickets or at the door.

Tasting Australia Masterclass: House of Hemp

This masterclass will explore the newest innovations for one of the world's oldest crops. Hemp has been used for thousands of years in many ways, including clothing, shoes, ropes, paper, and carpets. However, Vircura is the first company in South Australia to bring together local growers and hemp processing capability and use the product to develop new and innovative products for the construction and building industry as an alternative and sustainable building material. Industrial hemp is now being grown in Australia, and many small businesses are producing hemp seed and oil-based products for human consumption.
