For a man sometimes accused of 鈥渃omposing the same thing over 600 times鈥, Vivaldi鈥檚听Concerto alla rustica听is a remarkably forward-looking work.听 鈥淲hat a loss to the musical world鈥 wrote Mozart about the death of Johann Christian Bach, whilst including a theme of his mentor鈥檚 in this concerto.听Dag Wir茅n's听Serenade for Strings is a neo-classical composition characterized by its graceful and lively melodies, intricate counterpoint, and dynamic contrasts.
