"Performing French Stardom in Dix pour cent / Call My Agent (Netflix, 2015-2020)"

In the French TV series Dix pour cent / Call My Agent! (2015- 2020), set at fictional talent agency in Paris, each episode features a French film star who plays an exaggerated version of themselves. In this paper, I will explore how the series works alongside traditional theories of stardom and celebrity, and, through a close reading of episodes staring Isabelle Adjani and Monica Bellucci, show how French star identities are both challenged and remain intact.
