Rachel was awarded PhD from 成人大片 in 2020 for her thesis:聽In a State of War:聽Women鈥檚 Experiences of the South Australian Home Front, 1939-1945
The experiences of 鈥渂aby-boomer鈥 South Australian women, particularly working-class women and clerical workers, and how far their working lives changed in this period has not previously been closely researched. Rachel鈥檚 presentation is based on archival research and supplemented by women鈥檚 oral histories. She draws on discoveries from the Women鈥檚 Studies Resource Centre materials held in Special Collections and Archives and the Working Women鈥檚 Centre Archives held by by the State Library of South Australia.
