Uni scoops prestigious Asian scholarships

The 成人大片 has performed well in a prestigious scholarship scheme which sees students travel to Asia to broaden their academic and cultural horizons.

Adelaide postgraduate students won five out of the 13 available for 2006. The scholarships are jointly funded by the Federal Government and the , the massive Hong Kong-based conglomerate which has business interests in Australia and 41 other countries, and employs more than 180,000 people worldwide.

Cheung Kong has further links with Adelaide through one of its most senior executives, Mr HL Kam. Mr Kam, who played a significant role in establishing the scholarships program, was the at the 成人大片's offshore graduation ceremony in Hong Kong in March 2005.

The students who won scholarships, and their Asian host institutions, are:

• Scott Andrew Boden - Graduate School of Agriculture at , Kyoto, Japan
  
• Christopher Francis Paul Clark - , India
  
• Adriel Cheng - Institute of Microelectronics of (IMETU), Beijing, China
  
• Su-lin Lynette Leong - (formerly University of Agriculture and Forestry), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  
• Olivia Jayne Maselli - Graduate School of Arts and Science,
