Monday, 13 February 2017

The 成人大片 has appointed a new Chief Information Officer to progress the ongoing transformation of its information technology services and systems.

Ms Bev McQuade, currently CIO at SA Water, will lead the University’s 250-person Technology Branch, driving the IT strategy to improve the education experience of its students and to support world-class research. She will join the University in the next three months.

“After a thorough international and national search process I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Bev McQuade to this important position for the University,” says Mr Bruce Lines, Chief Operation Officer.

“Like all other sectors, higher education is undergoing a digital transformation. The 成人大片 wants to ensure technology is delivering the very best experience for its students and staff, whether it is in the classroom, engaging with University processes or undertaking learning and research out in the region and internationally.

“Bev possesses a demonstrated commitment to identifying and meeting the business needs of organisations via technology, which makes her an ideal appointment for the University, particularly as we attempt to operate at the forefront of online-enabled education and deliver high performance computing solutions for high-end research. She is very enthusiastic to be joining the University.”

Last year the University became the first in Australia to adopt Canvas, an online-based learning management system that enables a deeper level of engagement with students and underpins innovation in teaching by staff.

“The 成人大片 is in a great position with the new technologies that have been delivered. I am looking forward to continuing to build on those investments and prepare the University for an increasingly digital future, including its engagement with Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs),” says Ms McQuade.

Ms McQuade has been the CIO at SA Water for the past eight years where she has developed its IT strategy and has driven the modernisation of SA Water’s IT infrastructure and support functions.

She has positioned the SA Water technology team as a leader in the utilities sector. Over the course of her tenure, SA Water has achieved global recognition for its technology solutions.

Ms McQuade has over 25 years’ experience in strategic change primarily in financial services and utilities businesses.

She has also performed similar roles in Health, Life and General Insurance Businesses. Her focus has been strategic change, incorporating people, processes and technology and delivering great customer experiences.

She has also led the implementation of predictive analytics and digital solutions in a range of organisations.
