Marketing expert appointed Dean of Adelaide Business School

The 成人大片 has appointed a new Dean of the , to provide strategic leadership for business education and research in the State.

The new Dean is Professor Mark Gabbott, an internationally regarded marketing expert who has held senior positions at Macquarie University over the past eight years, including Executive Dean – Faculty of Business and Economics, and Pro Vice-Chancellor, International.

Prior to joining Macquarie in 2008, Professor Gabbott spent almost 12 years at Monash University, where he was Professor and Head of Marketing and Deputy Dean of the Monash Business School.

Professor Gabbott began his academic career at the University of Stirling in the UK after working in government for six years in consumer policy and protection.

He has published four books and more than 50 book chapters and journal articles. His research has been published in a variety of international academic journals and he currently sits on the editorial boards of three international marketing journals.

"Mark's experience in business education and research, and his ability to build close relationships with government and industry, will be invaluable in steering the future success of the Adelaide Business School," said the 成人大片's Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Warren Bebbington.

"Importantly, Mark has led the development of cross-disciplinary research – in the fields of business, economics and health – and he has a strong focus on quality higher education both within Australia and at an international level."

Professor Gabbott said he was excited about the opportunity to join the 成人大片.

"The Adelaide Business School, including its , has an extremely good reputation within South Australia. I look forward to getting to know local business and government as we work to build on that reputation and make it a recognisable brand internationally," he said.

Professor Gabbott is a graduate of the University of Essex (BA (Hons) in Economics), Imperial College, University of London (MSc in Technology Management), and University of Stirling (PhD in Marketing).

He will commence as Dean in a part-time capacity from 1 November, and then full-time from 3 January 2017.

The Adelaide Business School and its MBA are accredited by the US-based , the longest-serving global association dedicated to advancing management education worldwide.
