Psychology Week puts emphasis on families

Gambling, ageing and families are three of the key themes of Psychology Week, to be held from Sunday, November 9 until Friday, November 14.

Information and activities centring around Psychology will be open to all members of the public at two key events as part of Psychology Week.

• "Psychology and Families" - a free exhibition - will run from 2-5pm on Sunday, November 9 in the Equinox, Level 4 of the 成人大片's Union Building.

The exhibition will include information about Psychology as a Year 12 subject (a new option for secondary students starting in 2004) and the announcement of the Children's Peace Literature Award at 2.30pm.

Books and posters about what psychologists do will be on display, as well as special exhibitions on "gambling and the family" and "ageing and psychology".

No Pokies MLC Nick Xenophon will discuss "gambling and the family" at 3.15pm.

• On Friday, November 14, a public marquee will be open in Rundle Mall, taking Psychology out into the community of Adelaide.

Staff and students from the 成人大片 will be on hand to discuss the wide range of research, study options and careers available in Psychology, and how this fascinating and rewarding field of study makes an impact on the community.
