"This is a book for its time," Professor Jain says. "It demonstrates just how important the Asia-Pacific region has become to our State, from many different perspectives."

"Chinese and Indian investment in South Australia - particularly in the mining sector - is growing, and education is also one of our biggest exports.

"Another human flow has much deeper and longer-lasting impact: the phenomenal growth of migration from Asia."

A number of 成人大片 academics from different disciplines have contributed to the book, including demographer , from the University's Business School and from the University's Confucius Institute.

Premier Weatherill launched the book at 2.30pm today at the 成人大片's North Terrace Campus.

"Since taking office in October 2011, the Premier has vindicated the importance of this book through his international engagements," Professor Jain says.

"He has moved quickly to recognise the importance of our relationship with India and also strengthened South Australia's economic and other multi-layered linkages with the United States. It shows a clear commitment of his new State Government to further deepen South Australia's engagement with the Asia-Pacific."
