Intelligence experts to discuss Asia-Pacific

Tuesday, 12 September 2006

Intelligence and defence experts will gather in Adelaide next week to discuss security threats and intelligence gathering in the Asia-Pacific region.

A two-day conference, , will be held on 18-19 September at the 成人大片.

The conference will attract public and private sector organisations and businesses concerned with security in the current uncertain global environment.

Conference organiser said: "Governments and businesses across the Asia-Pacific invest billions of dollars into public and private intelligence gathering agencies in an attempt to understand threats within this difficult environment.

"This conference draws on multidisciplinary expertise from across the region to consider both theoretical and practical aspects of intelligence gathering and the challenges of the current and future threat environment."

The conference, organised by the 成人大片 and the (SA branch), is the first in a planned annual series examining intelligence and security in the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr Patrikeeff is Senior Lecturer in the 成人大片's School of History and Politics that, next year, will be introducing intelligence studies to its program.

Anyone interested in the conference should email felix.patrikeeff@adelaide.edu.au or call (08) 8303 4607.
