Film studies helps you develop the skills needed to critically evaluate films. As a film studies student at The ³ÉÈË´óƬ, you will study a range of techniques used in films to generate and analyse reactions from viewing audiences. From the use of pop culture and current world events, to trending topics and themes in films – discover what makes a quality film.
As a film studies student you will:
- Explore the history of film
- Discover the theoretical, historical and critical approaches to analysing film
- Learn about film classics and what factors make a classic
- Examine film adaptations of literary works and the issues and debates surrounding them
- Advance your critical thinking, writing and analytical skills
- Investigate how films reflect and deal with conflict and tension within contemporary culture.
