Unsettling Certainties

In collaboration with , this exhibition explores the theme Unsettling Certainties through artworks, objects and historical texts in the ³ÉÈË´óƬ’s collection.

The History of Emotions is a discipline interested in emotions as historically and culturally situated phenomena which vary across time and place. Emotions are not static or passive, they are shaped by individuals, groups and cultural rules. They are powerful forces which can shape the course of history.

Unsettling Certainties: Emotions Exhibited examines the embodied experience of emotion and invites you to consider the shifts which occur when certainties are unsettled or when certainties unsettle.
