Children鈥檚 University Australasia and Africa (IO), headquartered at The 成人大片, is an innovative program that engages and supports children and young people aged between four and 14 years in learning opportunities beyond the classroom. These experiences foster children鈥檚 ambitions and aspirations and increases their chances for educational achievement in the future.
With 3,888 students registered across the State this year, Children鈥檚 University Adelaide is constantly seeking to expand its reach and offerings to provide opportunities to more young students. Thanks to a recent partnership with Farina Restoration Group, three new remote schools joined the program in term three 2022 鈥 Leigh Creek Area School, Marree Aboriginal School, and the Port Augusta 鈥淪chool of the Air.鈥
Steve Harding, a volunteer Project Officer with Farina Restoration Group (FRG), said they are pleased to provide educational support to students in the far north of South Australia. 鈥淒ue to being sparsely populated, children often have less opportunity to be at the same educational level as their city counterparts,鈥 he said.
Kiri Hagenus, Managing Director of Children鈥檚 University Australasia and Africa (IO), said she is excited to be working with FRG to bring the program to Marree and Leigh Creek.
鈥淭he FRG is generously sponsoring the students鈥 involvement in the program, which will see the schools developing a greater connection to the work taking place to restore Farina, building connections with The 成人大片, and also becoming more involved in their own communities,鈥 she said.
