Environment Institute researchers will be speaking at the firstÌýScience in the Pub event for 2020.

In this event you will find outÌýhow Australian fossils inform the rest of the world about evolution, over the last half a billion years!

South Australia is exceptional for its wealth of unique fossil sites. Beyond the beautiful opalised fossils found in our deserts, the best global evidence of early multicellular organisms comes from the Flinders Ranges. In Kangaroo Island, we can find fossils of the oldest animals, with muscles and skin preserved, while the Naracoorte Caves present a great window into the fauna that welcomed the earliest humans in our continent.

What is SciPubAdelaide?

SciPubAdelaide makes science engaging and accessible to the public. Each panel consists of three experts who deliver 10-15 minute presentations on their area and then open up to questions from the audience via a moderator.

Panellists are selected primarily on their ability to effectively communicate science in an engaging and non-technical manner. SciPubAdelaide is held in a pub so that scientists, aspiring scientists, and non-scientists can learn, discuss and think critically about hot topics in science.
