EVENT: Botany in the Pub with National Science Week

From ancient flora to plants in space, we are living in an age of space exploration, yet it’s not just humans that are taking a leap. Plants will be critical to the survival of humans in space, as they have been on Earth for millions of years.

Join us for this special National Science Week edition of Science in the Pub as three of Adelaide’s leading botanical minds share their expertise on the past, present and future of plants. They will present on the ancient flora of Australia, contemporary conservation challenges and the botanical opportunities associated with human space exploration.

The Panellists for Botany in the Pub are:

Each expert will deliver short, 10-15 minute presentations on their area of expertise and then discuss questions from the audience via a moderator. Panellists are selected primarily on their ability to effectively communicate science in an engaging and non-technical manner. Science in the Pub is held in a pub so that scientists, aspiring scientists, and non-scientists can learn, discuss and think critically about hot topics in science.

There will be raffle prizes on the night, including plants grown at Mount Lofty Botanic Garden. Don’t miss this unique discussion of plants through time.
