A Night of Science - Naracoorte

As a part of National Science Week, theÌýSouth Australian Museum and ³ÉÈË´óƬ Palaeontologists are hosting a special evening event in Naracoorte, South Australia's South East Region where you have the opportunity to meet leading scientists and hear about their exciting research!

Special presentation by (³ÉÈË´óƬ Research scientist) who has been dubbed the ‘next David Attenborough’. Kris has travelled all over the world exploring field sites and museum collections in search of new mammals. So far, he has discovered over 100 new species including the ‘Skywalker’ Gibbon and the Olinguito.



This will be followed by a panel of speakers for a ‘scientific speed dating’ format, where each presenter will have 5 minutes to tell you about their research followed by Q and A session with the audience.

Joining Kris for our panel presentation will be:
– Director of the Environment Institute ³ÉÈË´óƬ – plant fossils.



– Curator of herpetology, South Australian Museum – reptiles past and present.



– Research scientist ³ÉÈË´óƬ – tiger snakes and ancient DNA.


– PhD student ³ÉÈË´óƬ – Echidna CSI!



- SA Museum. Stick-Nest Rats and past biodiversity



– PhD student ³ÉÈË´óƬ – Naracoorte small mammal fossils.


Emcee for the evening (³ÉÈË´óƬ) who will talk about the exciting new palaeontology research happening at Naracoorte Caves.
