Interview with Dr Shiel- academic and artist

鈥淲hat other job would let you sit for 16 hours a day sifting mud,...or听inspecting the private parts of copepods?鈥 - so says , an aquatic ecologist specialising in microfauna.

Dr Shiel is an expert in microscopic creatures that live in freshwater and seawater.听He sits down with the Atlas of Living Australia to discuss his research and unique approach to species identification.

Using a blend of science and art, Dr Shiel creates spectacular images of microscopic subjects to elucidate fantastical features of our underwater friends.
