New paper: Ecologically realistic estimates of maximum population growth using informed Bayesian priors

The paper titled uses easily obtained prior information about allometric relationships and life history characteristics of a range of mammal species to inform the estimation of growth responses of populations to their previous densities. The results show that prior knowledge of species’ life history is necessary to provide ecologically realistic estimates of regulatory dynamics even in the absence of detailed demographic data.
