- Demonstrate knowledge of the legal, political and ethical context of mining in Australia and overseas
- Describe the principles of sustainable development and apply them in the context of mining practices
- Identify leading practice in environmental management of mine sites and evaluate their implementation
- Discuss the major issues associated with social/community impacts of mining and engage in development of management strategies
- Application of systematic approaches to the conduct and management of engineering projects
- Identify the key stakeholders in a mining project and their respective needs
- Demonstrate an awareness of management theory and processes
- Recognise the factors that motivate people's behaviour in the mine working environment
- Apply the principal performance measures used in mine management
- Demonsrtate an awareness of mining law (safety, mining leases, license to operate)
- Demonstrate an awareness of contractor management
- Understand the economic conditions in which the mining industry operates

Student Feedback
