ARTS 1008 - The Enquiring Mind - Arts Advanced

The Enquiring Mind: Arts Advanced gives students a solid foundation in skills that will be crucial to both their university studies and working lives, including critical thinking, creative problem-solving, collaboration, resilience, research, and communication. The course develops these skills through an exploration of `freedom? and social and cultural change in an uncertain future. As students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) you will have considerable choice over the specific topics you choose to explore, how you access information, and how you present their findings. This allows students to tailor their Enquiring Mind: Arts Advanced experience to their own strengths and interests. In the process, students will build academic literacies, critical thinking and well developed communication skills.

    Attendance
    The Enquiring Mind Arts Advanced is available as a first year course. No prerequisities are required. Lectures and other activities will by online through MyUni.

    In addition to the online lectures each student participates in a 2-hour seminar each week, of which you will have a choice between online or face to face attendance. Attendance and engagement at seminars is critical to success in this course.

    The University places a high priority on approaches to learning and teaching that enhance the student experience.
