Course Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes will be defined based on specific areas of weakness identified by the course coordinators for the failed course. For example:
On successful completion of this course students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate competence in ordering and interpretation of basic investigations, including correlation of results with clinical setting.
2. Demonstrate system-specific history and examination skills for common presenting problems.
3. Demonstrate simple procedural skills and prescribing skills.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of surgical management, particularly with respect to an understanding of the relevant anatomy, physiology and pathology underlying important and common surgical diseases.
5. Safely and competently perform basic practical procedures.
6. Use structured assessment and management model: History, examination (physical, cognition & mental state), synthesis
(diagnostic reasoning, formulation, risk assessment), communication (case presentation, documentation, referral), teamwork.
7. Diagnose and initiate treatment and referral in the management of emergency musculoskeletal conditions.
8. Exhibit professionalism and effective communication skills towards patients and their families, colleagues, co-workers and the general community.

This student-targeted course contains content will specifically focus on addressing area(s) of weakness identified within the failed course (a period of clinical attachment in an area of weakness to be directed by the course coordinator). This may include: ward rounds, consultant rounds, outpatient clinics and bedside tutorial, operating theatre ward rounds, and rehabilitation visit
Workload
The information below is provided as a guide to assist students in engaging appropriately with the course requirements.
Workload for the individual students will vary from week to week but students can assume that on average they will work a 45 hour week which will include clinic sessions, lectures (both delivered and online), seminars, tutorials and private study but does not include after hours call.Learning Activities Summary
