1 Develop through work a concept and business plan for a new social enterprise, demonstrating a degree of professional expertise commensurate with an intensive period of practical hands-on experience. 2 Demonstrate the requisite skills in applying practical, theoretical, critical, methodological and disciplinary knowledge in a form that reflects a post-university professional work environment. 3 Demonstrate the requisite skills set in the development, management and finalisation of a social enterprise project at an advanced level. 4 Demonstrate the ability to collaborate and work constructively in a team and on a team-based project 5 Demonstrate a highly-developed awareness of the ways in which contemporary professional, industry, government and community organisations engage in social enterprise initiatives. 6 Demonstrate an understanding of the ways in which social enterprise initiatives and the humanities and social sciences research skills, methods, knowledge and information are relevant to post-university working life and advance career prospects and applications accordingly. Learning & Teaching Modes
This is a program that is being run by Big Ideas. Currently 10 Australian Universities participate in this program, including 5 GO8s. The teaching and learning modes are run by Big Ideas with Academic supervision being provided by the Faculty of Arts. The seminars are delivered by representatives from key business, government and community organisations in facilitating and guiding each team in the conceptualisation and development of a business plan.Workload

- 2000 word concept and business plan: students will be required to write a joint concept and business plan for a social enterprise initiative – 35% weighting
- Presentation of business plan – 15% weighting
- Final report: students are required to write an individual report of 3000 words on the social enterprise initiative – 50% weighting

Student Feedback
