Assessment
The University's policy on Assessment for Coursework Programs is based on the following four principles:

Online quiz x 6 (60%) – at the end of each module students will complete an online quiz. The quizzes will use a variety of question formats – MCQ, SBA, extending matching questions and short written answers.
End of course exam (40%) – short answer and essay-style answers to questions.
Tutorial x 6 (formative assessment) – students will explore a variety of areas relating to the selection and use of oral appliances for the management of sleep disordered breathing. Each tutorial paper will require students to respond to several short answer questions or write a short essay on a topic ready for group discussion online.
1 Evaluation of guidelines for oral appliances for obstructive sleep apnoea. Critical evaluation of existing guidelines from around the world.
2 Case selection – when it goes wrong. Critical evaluation of three cases with undesirable outcomes. 3 Oral appliances – which one do I use? Short answer questions on appliance selection and suitability.
4 Critique of other oral appliances. Brief critical evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages of infrequently used appliances.
5 Investigation of various corrective occlusal exercises and titration paradigms . Brief critical evaluation of the protocols and approaches to adjusting oral appliances.
6 Tutorial - Critique of other oral appliancesSubmission
All submissions will be electronic.
