The course will run in two streams, one looking at Planning Policy and Practice, the second at Planning Law. Teaching sessions take place on Mondays 10-1.00 and 2 -5.00. The first session of the semester will be on Monday 28th July at 2.00 in the Forum Theatre. -

Course Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course students will be able to:- Critically review different types of planning system
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the South Australian statutory planning system
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of South Australian planning law
- Analyse current planning policy issues and propose amendments
- Analyse development applications and make recommendations
- Prepare development assessment reports

The information below is provided as a guide to assist students in engaging appropriately with the course requirements.
The course is divided into two parts, namely Planning Policy and Practice and secondly Planning Law. The Law section will commence in week 5 and run on Monday afternoons until the end of semester. There are assessed items related to each of the two major components of the course.The Policy and Practice sessions will commence in week one, initially on Monday afternoons and later on Monday mornings.
