During her time in Adelaide she worked with the Soil Conservation Boards, travelling to communities across the state and assisting with their training needs. Following this she worked in Berri as a Project Officer for the (then named) River Murray Catchment Water Management Board, working on the public consultation for the Catchment Water Management Planning and Water Allocation Planning that was occurring at the time. The team drylands 5000 hectares a year of crops at Loxton in the Riverland, where most of the grain goes towards their 1000 sow piggery. He joined Penfolds Wines in 1979, where he established a new Penfolds vineyard in the Clare Valley. His diploma gave him the opportunity to work in Papua New Guinea as an agricultural advisor on a three-year contract, and when the country achieved independence in 1975 he was given the choice to take up a new position. Peter ended up spending 30 years in Papua New Guinea, moving from agriculture to wildlife and getting involved with crocodile, cassowary, butterfly and insect farming. This allows them to still own the farm, live on it and be a part of it, while not having to worry about the day-to-day jobs. He's also held a relentless passion for agriculture and learning. Ben is a 4th generation farmer and has been involved in the beef and sheep industry for many years. May 25 2018 Tusha Bhatia /alumni/news/list/2018/05/25/ben-ryan /alumni/news/list/2018/05/18/louise-flohr Lou Flohr graduated from Roseworthy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Agriculture, and today runs her own agronomic consultancy business HF-Ag, working with growers in the southern mallee and Victorian mallee. As a side project, Lou delivered agronomic workshops to women in farming business who wish to upskill in this field. May 18 2018 Tusha Bhatia /alumni/news/list/2018/05/18/louise-flohr /alumni/news/list/2018/05/11/tim-prance Tim always knew he was going to study at Roseworthy because his Dad had graduated in 1947 and grew up on the family farm north of Millicent. After graduating in 1972, Tim worked as an adviser with the SA Department of Agriculture for 30 plus years in the south east and on the Fleurieu Peninsula. He also spent two years in Libya on a project to settle Libyan farmers on land previously farmed by Italians. For the last 8 years Tim has worked for himself as a consultant in the area of livestock and pasture management based in Victor Harbor. Today, 20 years after graduating from Roseworthy, Lucy still loves getting out to spend time with farmers, kicking the dirt and getting behind farming businesses to supply quality produce to the globe.
