Evenings at Elder Hall
An evening with James Morrison

Needing no introduction, Australian Jazz Legend James Morrison is joined by special guest John Morrison (drums), and Jazz Staff, Bruce Hancock (piano) and John Aue (bass). After interval Morrison features with Dusty Cox and the Elder Conservatorium Big Band in an exciting set of great jazz standards.

In his inimitable style, Keith Conlon will relate the special history of both Elder Hall and Kym Bonython's contribution to the world of Jazz.

$25 from every ticket sold for both concerts will go towards the Elder Hall Rejuvenation Appeal.

Master class: Jean Efflan Bavouzet, piano
Presented by Elder Hall and the Elder Conservatorium of Music

The multi award-winning pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet is one of the most engaging live performers of his generation. An exclusive recording artist for Chandos, Bavouzet received a Gramophone Award in 2011 for his recording of works by Debussy and Ravel with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Yan Pascal Tortelier.

Head of Keyboard Studies Lucinda Collins invites you to this public masterclass - also part of the Elder Conservatorium's Piano Technique and Repertoire Class - as four talented young pianists work with this renowned French pianist.

Theatre Guild: ANTIGONE by Jean Anouilh, translated by Lewis Galantiere

One of the masterpieces of the modern French stage, Antigone was originally produced in Paris in 1942, when France was occupied and part of Hitler's Europe. The play depicts an authoritarian regime which mirrors the predicament of the French people of the time.
