Cancer surgeon and survivor shares his story

"Battling Cancer: Taking responsibility and creating change" is the title of a free public lecture being given at the 成人大片 this month by Professor Chris O'Brien, widely known to Australian audiences through the reality TV program RPA.

Professor O'Brien is the former Director of the Sydney Cancer Centre, based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney.

In 2006 he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour requiring a number of operations, radiotherapy and months of chemotherapy. He also embraced a regime of natural medicine and meditation.

In a public lecture organised by the Northern Communities Health Foundation and the Faculty of Health Sciences at the 成人大片, Professor O'Brien will share his story.

The lecture will be held at 5.30pm on Tuesday 5 August in the Florey Lecture Theatre, 成人大片 Medical School, Frome Road, Adelaide.

High Court Justice gives free public lecture

Justice Michael Kirby AC, CMG of the High Court of Australia will give the latest free public lecture as part of the Law 125 Distinguished Speakers Series.

The lecture is free and open to the public, and helps to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the 成人大片's Law School.

Justice Kirby, who has been a High Court Justice since 1996, will speak on "100 Years of Jumbunna".

His lecture will be held at 1.00pm on Monday 4 August in the Moot Court Room, Law School, Ligertwood Building, North Terrace Campus.
